Musical instruments, glassware and butterfly in the reflective light
This watercolor painting is done on a museum quality textured Clayboard panel.
The tempered hardboard has been sealed with two coats of acrylic emulsion before the acid free kaolin clay is applied. The painting is done on the clay with the finest watercolors and then a protective coating of Kamar varnish is applied, eliminating the need for glass. Brass, cloth, glass and a butterfly exchanging reflective light and colors. This combination gave me the opportunity to explore the light reflections on an assortment of materials. It was a fun and interesting challenge.
