Wind blowing the snow on the mountain ridge
This is an imaginary scene. I did this painting as a demonstration for a class.
It is a demonstration of aerial perspective, which is the technique of creating distance by painting the far away with light colors and faint detail and as you move forward in the scene using more color and more detail. The tops of the trees in effect push the rest of the scene back helping to establish distance. The original is sold but it is a very popular print.
