A view of the orchards of Maryhill, Washington with the Biggs bridge crossing the Columbia
I live just a few miles from this junction on I84 and these wonderful orchards. They grow
apricots, cherries, nectarines, and over twenty varieties of peaches in this river bottom soil. The hillsides up and down the Columbia from here eastward are providing ideal wine grape growing conditions.
Biggs junction is an important wayside from pioneer days. Also in the painting is the Maryhill State Park on the river.
A close inspection will also note Mt. Hood in the distance. This is a wonderful area to visit. Nearby is the only life size replica of the Stonehenge as it originally looked. It is a WWI war memorial. Let me know by email if you are going to be in the area. We have a Gallery in Goldendale just 14 miles North up HWY 97. I would love to meet you.
